Black Rock

Black Rock is located beachfront at the Sheraton in Kaanapali. You will have to pay for parking unless you get one of about ten free spots in the public parking garage which is located on the bottom floor of the paid parking garage. If you are on a budget and can’t afford $20 to park for the day, (no in and out), then get there early enough to get one of the free ones. Black Rock is a jewel of Maui. It boasts great snorkeling, cliff diving and a lovely beach. Most likely you will see turtles and a ton of other sea life there at any given time. If you would rather take a boat trip then there are several charter boats which offer snorkeling/scuba and a glass bottom for viewing the sea life by those who dislike watersports. You can use the Sheraton’s outdoor shower at the entrance to the beach and the bathrooms are just inside the hotel. All common areas, such as bathrooms, outdoor showers and lobbies, of all hotels in Hawaii are open to the public. It is worth the parking fee, especially if you are carpooling.
